Opened
the 10th of June 2001 the TGV Méditerranée
(high-speed train) will change the habits
of the Franch. The SNCF high-speed networks
grows rich by a new line that shortens the
time between Paris and Marseilles to only
3 hours.
A signicant stage after the opening of the TGV Paris Lyon in 1981, the TGV Atlantique
in 1989 and the TGV Nord-Europe in 1993. Before the TGV Est in 2006...
A real railway revolution because beyond the gain of time it is in fact all France,
and even Europe, with 70 cities and 13 regions connected between them that have
been transformed.
The Mediterranean is from now on 4 hours and 30 minutes from the North Sea. The
second and the third city of France discover themselves to be neighbours with
1 hour and 40 minutes between Marseille and Lyon, 15 times a day.
